Joy Aull
Interim Director
Program Director
Professional Development

Joy brings 25 years of experience in collaborating with federal, state and local agencies in addition to university/college officials to implement strong preemptive community education and professional development programs. She enjoys taking multidisciplinary projects from conception to implementation. Due to the extensive time Joy spent living and traveling internationally, she is adept at working with diverse groups. Joy graduated from Hardin Simmons University with a Bachelors of Behavioral Science. She has worked as a mentor, parole officer, training coordinator, university administrator, consultant and police captain. Joy has multiple mental health, emergency response, and public safety instructor certifications. Joy and her husband have three children and together they enjoy cooking, traveling, and outdoor activities.

JJ Moody
Program Director
Special Courses and Online Programs

JJ is excited to join the team at the Center for Continuing Education and Conference Services and Global USA. She brings to the Center more than 10 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations, primarily focused on resource development, public policy, training, advocacy and organizational development. Most of her experience is within the social justice sector, promoting non-violence and advocating for the lesser served. JJ also has experience working in the museum industry and with grassroots advocacy groups and art organizations. JJ obtained her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Troy University. JJ is passionate about bringing people together to learn, create and grow.

Paul Phillips
Lead Instructor
Safety and Emergency Management

Paul Phillips is the head instructor and program director of the University of South Alabama’s Safety and Emergency Response Training department. He has been with the program since 2003 and has a wide range of emergency response training and experience. Paul has an associate’s degree in fire science and has been a firefighter since 1998. He has been with the City of Mobile’s Fire Department since 2000 and is a Captain assigned to the Hazardous Materials Unit where he has obtained certification as a Hazmat Technician and a Weapons of Mass Destruction Technician and Incident Safety Officer. He also is an OSHA Outreach instructor and is qualified to teach a variety of safety classes. In addition, he spent four years performing search and rescue operations in the United States Coast Guard where he holds a USCG Maritime Captains license. Overhaul, Paul’s combined education, training, and work experience enable him to instruct students to become safety and emergency response professionals.

Lisa Simon
Registrar/Support Staff

Lisa has been with the University of South Alabama for over twenty-four years.  She joined the team in January of 2017 and brings to the Center extensive knowledge of medical billing and coding as well as various aspects of the healthcare field. Emily Wilson

Program Coordinator/Support Staff

Emily is thrilled to join the Center for Continuing Education and Conference Services and Global USA. She brings to the Center a strong background with nearly a decade of experience in business administration and management, sales, marketing and customer service. Emily is a Mobile native and enjoys traveling through the states and abroad in her spare time. Emily assists the Center in developing and implementing educational programs, camps and conferences. She hopes to strengthen and bring vibrancy to our community through her experiences and efforts here at South.
