JagPALs, or Peer Academic Leaders, are exceptional student leaders who have excelled academically who are trained to assist others with the transition to South. They are trained to orient new students once they get to campus as they are aware of strategies for academic success, student organizations, campus events, and services. JagPALs are placed in all First Year Experience courses, but are also available to meet individually with students as needed.
Some of the areas JagPALs can provide support:
- Learning and study strategies
- Time management
- Campus involvement
- Communication with professors and advisors
- Adjusting to college life
