How do I know who my advisor is?

You are assigned an academic advisor based on your declared major and classification. When you log into SSC campus, you will see your academic advisor's name listed on your dashboard. You can find your advisor through your PAWS account as well.

You can also refer to the following:

▼   College of Allied Health Professions

All students with less than 30 credit hours, excepting Emergency Medical Sciences majors:
Academic Advising & Transfer Services

Students with more than 30 credit hours and all Emergency Medical Sciences majors:
Allied Health Advising

▼   College of Arts and Sciences

If you have earned 0-30 credit hours in college, you are advised in Academic Advising & Transfer Services, with the following exceptions:
- Social Work majors with 0-60 hours are advised in the A&S Advising Center
- Music majors with any number of hours are advised in the Music Department
- Theatre majors with any number of hours are advised in the Theatre and Dance Department

Note: Biology majors are advised in Academic Advising & Transfer Services until they reach 45 credit hours. Additionally, students who are still exploring major options will remain in Academic Advising & Transfer Services until major declaration.

If you have earned more than 30 credit hours, including credit hours you may have transferred from another college or university, you will be advised in your major department in Arts and Sciences. Please find your faculty advisor assignment in PAWS and contact the department for required advising. You can also contact your major department for assistance in finding your advisor using the number on your department's website.

If you have special advising needs, such as transfer credit evaluation, transient course approval, grade replacement, or graduation check-sheets, please make an appointment with the A&S Advising Center.

If you have earned 90 or more credit hours, it is time to make and appointment to see a graduation specialist in the A&S Advising Center. This advisor will help make sure you will have everything ready to graduate. Note that you will continue to see your major advisor for course scheduling each semester.
