DBA Program Expands to Offer DBA in Marketing

Mitchell College of Business Sign

Under the leadership of the newly appointed DBA Director, Dr. Joe Hair, the DBA Program will grant degrees in Marketing in addition to the well-established DBA in Management.

The Mitchell DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) is designed specifically for business professionals and instructor-level faculty at two and four-year colleges and universities.  The comprehensive 36-month program prepares doctoral students for an academic career in management or marketing at four-year universities. The program prepares students to conduct research that contributes to the discipline’s body of knowledge and to teach in a university classroom.  The curriculum is designed to provide a balanced approach to learning theories and methods.

Classes are led by doctoral faculty with extensive experience in university teaching and research.  Mitchell DBA faculty are widely published in Management and Marketing and work closely with the DBA students to guide students’ research interests to publication.

Doctoral students are admitted each summer with classes beginning in May. The program is designed to allow all requirements to be completed in 36 months.  Courses meet Friday, Saturday and half-day Sunday, 11 times per year during the first two years of the program.  Meetings are less frequent during year 3 of the program.

To apply, contact Dr. Joe Hair, jhair@southalabama.edu or call (251) 460-6180.  The deadline for 2017 admission is January 31.

Let a Mitchell DBA take your career to the next level.
